Go into your course and locate the Recent Activities block in the right-hand sidebar.  This will show you a list of everything that has happened since the last time that you logged into Moodle.  Clicking on Full report of recent activity... will show you exactly where the activity has taken place.  This is a great way to quickly get caught up on forum posts, especially from previous units!
