If your instructor is allowing you to make a second attempt on an assignment, you will turn in the assignment the same way you turned in the first attempt.  When you go into the assignment, instead of seeing a graded assignment with no buttons to submit, you will see buttons allowing you to submit a new assignment.  Follow these instructions to turn in your assignment:

  1. Login and go to your class assignment.
  2. Scroll down the page and you will see two buttons: Add a new attempt based on previous submission and Add a new attempt
  3. Unless your instructor has given you specific instructions, click the Add a new attempt button:

  4. In the File Submission box at the bottom of the screen, click on the Add icon.
  5. This will bring up a File Picker box. Click on the Browse button and look for your file in your computer.
  6. Select your assignment file and click on it.  This will put the file pathway at the top in File Picker.
  7. Click Update this File.
  8. This will bring you back to the File Submission box, where you should now see your assignment file in the box.  Click on Save Changes button.
  9. This will return you to the assignment page.  You will now see that you have submitted a draft of your assignment, but it has not yet been turned in.
  10. Make any changes to your assignment by clicking Edit submission.
  11. When you are ready to turn in your assignment, click on the Submit assignment button at the bottom of the screen.
  12. You will be shown a message informing you that once you submit your assignment, you will not be able to make any changes.  Click Continue to submit your assignment.

Watch the Assignments how-to video in Moodle 102 to watch step-by-step instructions for how to submit an assignment.  These instructions apply regardless of which attempt (first, second, third, etc.) you are making on the assignment.
